&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Bananas&lt;/em&gt;:&lt;br/&gt;Large bananas cut into bite size pieces (1-2″)&lt;br/&gt;Sriracha, Sambal Oelek or similar chili paste&lt;br/&gt;wooden skewers for serving&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Batter&lt;/em&gt;:&lt;br/&gt;2 C. flour&lt;br/&gt;2 Tbs black and white sesame seeds&lt;br/&gt;1 tsp. baking powder&lt;br/&gt;3 Tbs sugar&lt;br/&gt;salt to taste&lt;br/&gt;1 TBS honey&lt;br/&gt;2 L eggs&lt;br/&gt;2 C. of hoppy pale ale&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Dusting&lt;/em&gt;:&lt;br/&gt;Cinnamon sugar (1:2::cinnamon:sugar)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2 cups of vegetable oil heated to 350 degrees&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;-&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Prep bananas.&lt;br/&gt;1. Cut and peel bananas.&lt;br/&gt;2. Brush with chili paste.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Mix batter.&lt;br/&gt;1. Mix dry ingredients of batter.&lt;br/&gt;2. Add wet ingredients and mix until incorporated. Do not overmix! Mix like you would pancake batter. Set aside.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Dip the banana pieces in batter to coat and drop into heated oil. Move banana fritters in oil to promote even browning. Fry until golden brown. Transfer on towel-lined plate to remove excess oil. About a minute after, put fritters in serving plates and dust with cinnamon sugar.&lt;br/&gt;Serve while crispy.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;It is my dream of being in a chef&amp;#8217;s uniform that drives me to cook better. I don&amp;#8217;t want to sound like a hardcore feminist but one of the reasons why I want to cook well is to prove that women can, well, cook well! That apart from homecooking, I can excel and one day go up the ranks in a professional kitchen &amp;#8212; a feat that statistically more men than women have accomplished. I want to cook well because I want to be a chef, a successful female chef!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;BUT does moving up from being dishwasher girl to being the prep slave mean you are a step closer to cooking good food? Does professional ranking make you a good cook?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Didn’t know about that? Now you know. It’s not those canned beans. I’m talking about the dry, unprocessed ones. One being the good ones and the other, the ugly ones. Good ones go into a bowl to be soaked in water thereafter, and the ugly ones into the trash can. You see, in the world of pinto beans, ugly is not welcome to the party!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
